THE AMPLIFIERS

Clean Channel - Inspired by the legendary Roland JC-120-style clean sound — the bright, glassy solid-state clean tone that helped define Metallica’s clean sound. This channel is built for wide, polished cleans with a sharp attack, clear note separation, and that unmistakable stereo chorus movement.

Crunch Channel - Based on the legendary Mesa Boogie Mark IIC+ style high-gain sound — the iconic amp voice behind Metallica’s most famous rhythm tones. Scooped, crushing and iconic!

Lead Channel - Built on the same Mesa Boogie Mark IIC+ style foundation as the Crunch channel, but voiced for smoother sustain, sharper cut, and more expressive solo work.

EFFECTS

Chromatic Tuner - The built-in chromatic tuner keeps your workflow fast and focused, letting you check tuning directly inside the suite without loading another plugin or breaking your session flow.

Wah - The built-in Wah is voiced for that classic Kirk Hammett-style solo sound: vocal, sharp, aggressive, and instantly expressive.

TS9 Tube Screamer - For that classic front end push, this adds sustain and liquid solo feel at the touch of a button.

APX Rack EQ - Inspired by the Aphex-style rack processing often discussed as one of the lesser-known secret weapons behind the Black Album rhythm sound.
Not many players talk about this part of the chain — but it is one of the details that helps the tone feel more like a finished record instead of just a raw amp.

APX Rack COMPANDER - Inspired by the Aphex-style rack processing often linked to Hetfield-style rhythm tones, the Compressor / Expander adds the tight, percussive attack that makes palm mutes feel sharp, controlled, and in your face.

STUDIO MAGIC

Studio Magic is the missing piece that helps The Black Amp Suite sound like a finished record instead of just a raw amp sim.Inspired by the secret studio mixing techniques used to create larger-than-life Black Album-style guitar tones, each channel has its own dedicated Studio Magic module with a different purpose.Clean adds width and polish.
Crunch adds size, weight, and produced rhythm power.
Lead adds sustain, focus, and mix-ready cut.These channel-specific modules are designed to bring the final studio character into the plugin, helping each tone sit right in the mix faster.

THE SECRET SAUCE

The Black Amp Suite includes more than amps and effects — it also gives you the front-end tools needed to make the whole rig respond correctly.Input Calibration - helps match your guitar level to the plugin, so the amp receives the right amount of signal and reacts the way it was designed to. This is essential for tight palm mutes, accurate gain response, and consistent tones between different guitars and interfaces.81 Mode - Our signature pickup emulation stage. Active EMG pickups are a key part of the sound! This dynamic model reacts to your pickups and gives you that character even with passive electronics.Het Attack - enhances the pick transient, bringing out the sharp, percussive front edge needed for fast downpicked rhythm parts to stay clear and aggressive.Thickener - adds extra body and weight when you want the tone to feel bigger, fuller, and more powerful without rebuilding the whole chain.GUI Resize - makes the suite easier to use across different screens and setups, whether you are working on a laptop, studio monitor, or larger display.
